A resin set of details for the front and rear sections of the fenders for models of the German Panzer III tank and the StuG III assault gun in 1:35 scale. According to the manufacturer it contains five complete sets, that is material for several models or a reserve in case a small part breaks during the build. The edges of the fenders tend to be unrealistically heavy on injection-molded kits, because a mold will not produce thinner sheet.
The Panzer III and the StuG III stood on the same chassis, so they were close in the details of the hull as well, and the fenders were among the most heavily stressed parts. On the real vehicle the front and rear sections could be folded up, they bent while driving over rough ground and were often torn off against obstacles, so in period photographs you see machines with fenders damaged, missing or replaced by improvisation. For a modeler that is a welcome opening: a thin part can be bent, cracked or partly removed and the model gains in plausibility.
Cut the supports and the remains of the print raft away with a sharp scalpel over a mat; do not break them off. Level the cut with a file or a sanding sponge under water so that no dust is raised. Wash the parts in warm soapy water before painting and let them dry. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); polystyrene cement will not join resin. Paint then holds considerably better over primer.
