This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Italeri captures the German light half-track tractor Sd.Kfz.10 (Demag D7) together with the 7.5 cm infantry gun leIG 18. Besides the vehicle and the gun, the package contains a set of crew figures, decals for several marking options and link & length tracks. It is skill level 4, that is a build suited rather to more advanced modelers.
The Sd.Kfz.10 was the lightest of the German half-track tractors of the Second World War. It served mainly as an artillery tractor for light guns and for anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons and could also carry a crew with its equipment. It was powered by an inline six-cylinder Maybach engine, thanks to which it reached a brisk speed on the road. It was deployed on all the main fronts. The 7.5 cm leIG 18 infantry gun was a light support gun assigned to infantry companies for direct fire support.
Finish and paint the running gear and the interior of the body before closing it up. Assemble the tracks by the link & length method and use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Apply a primer before the airbrush. For a faithful look it helps to bring out the details with a wash and to use mud or dust pigments for the weathering of the running gear and the gun. The figures and the gun make it possible to put together a small diorama scene.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
