The model captures the characteristic lightened fuselage frame with no enclosed cargo hold, laid out to carry loads slung underneath. It is a large and fairly demanding kit in injection-molded plastic.
The CH-54 Tarhe was an American heavy helicopter designed to carry outsize loads. Thanks to its powerful hoists it could carry a load slung underneath without landing. During the Vietnam War it recovered damaged aircraft and helicopters and carried artillery and vehicles; it set several world records in its class.
Because of its size and the number of parts, this is a build for more experienced modelers. Finish the cockpit and the load-bearing structure before closing them up, and take care over clean gluing of the clear parts. Apply a primer before painting, spray the base shade with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
