This detail set from the Polish company Aber for 1:35 scale contains twelve fine metal smoke grenade launchers (turned and photo-etched parts) for models of modern Russian and Soviet armored vehicles. It is not a model or a kit of a vehicle but a finishing accessory that replaces the simplified plastic parts from the box. The set is intended for models of the T-64, T-72, T-80, T-90, BMP-3 and the 2S19 self-propelled howitzer.
Modern Russian and Soviet armored vehicles carry blocks of launch tubes on the turret for smoke grenades that create a protective smoke screen. Turned metal tubes with fine photo-etched items look more faithful than a solid plastic imitation, and twelve pieces usually cover a set for one vehicle with some to spare.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, shorten the turned tubes if needed and glue everything with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with a primer. Work in a well-ventilated room.
