An injection-molded plastic kit of the German aircraft carrier Peter Strasser in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. This extensive kit holds a split hull, a well-worked flight deck and hangar deck, photo-etched parts and a set of carrier aircraft; the exact package contents are stated in the instructions.
Peter Strasser was the planned second German aircraft carrier of the Graf Zeppelin class. Construction began at the end of the 1930s, but she was never completed and the ship never entered service. The model therefore captures the projected form of the ship according to period plans.
With a large kit, plan the sequence in advance and decide between the full hull and waterline. Bond the fine photo-etched parts and railings with super glue and the plastic with thin cement for plastic. Paint the carrier aircraft separately. Lay down a primer before painting and pick out the details with a wash; the model looks best on a stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
