Injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese Chen Yuen ironclad battleship in 1:350 scale from Bronco. The model captures this armored ship of the imperial Chinese Beiyang Fleet of the late 19th century. The Chen Yuen was one of two large ironclads ordered by the Chinese Beiyang Fleet in Germany in the 1880s. These armored giants with their heavy guns in armored barbettes were among the most powerful warships of East Asia at the time and fought in the Sino-Japanese War, among other actions at the Battle of the Yalu River in 1894. After the fall of Weihaiwei she was captured by the Imperial Japanese Navy.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with thin cement for plastic; attach the photo-etched details with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the coats with an airbrush. Paint the hull and the superstructure in a period scheme (a darker hull, lighter superstructure), do the deck in a wood shade and bring out the lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
