Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American large cruiser USS Alaska (CB-1) in 1:350 scale from Hobby Boss. This extensive set offers a detailed hull, photo-etched parts, anchor chain and two SC-1 floatplanes, rounded out with a stand and a name plate. It is a more demanding project for more experienced ship modelers.
USS Alaska was the lead ship of the American large cruiser class of the same name, in service at the close of the Second World War. These imposing ships stood between heavy cruisers and battleships in size and were armed with a main battery of 30.5 cm guns. In service they mainly escorted the fast carrier task forces and provided anti-aircraft defense.
Decide whether you are building the full hull or the waterline version, and set the model on the stand. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the fine photo-etched parts and railings with super glue. Apply the deck and the hull with an airbrush over a primer following the period camouflage scheme; the details of the superstructures and the armament are picked out with fine weathering and washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
