This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from ICM combines a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 fighter with a set of German ground crew figures. The box therefore lets you build a striking airfield scene. The model has a detailed DB 601 engine and finely engraved panel lines.
The F-4 version was the peak of the Friedrich series, with a more powerful engine and heavier armament concentrated on the aircraft centerline. It entered service in 1941 and was among the most feared fighters of its day. The mechanic figures round out the everyday work around Luftwaffe aircraft.
Glue the model with liquid cement for plastic and the figures with cyanoacrylate glue. The figures' uniforms come into their own after a base coat and accenting with oil paints. The aircraft camouflage is typically in shades of aviation gray with green fields and the markings of a particular squadron.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
