An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Culver PQ-14B unmanned training target in 1:48 scale from Clear Prop Models. This is the Starter kit edition — a simplified, more accessible version with richly detailed plastic parts and decals for several marking options. The box holds a set of sprues including one with clear parts. The exact contents of the box are not stated here.
The Culver PQ-14B was a small unmanned aircraft that served in the Second World War as a radio-controlled aerial target for training anti-aircraft artillery. It was derived from the civilian Culver Cadet sport plane and as a rule carried a conspicuous bright finish for good visibility during practice firing. The machines were used by the US Army Air Forces and by the Navy.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with a liquid cement for plastic; sand the fine seams down. Glue the clear cockpit parts carefully with a canopy glue so that the plastic does not fog. Lay a primer on before painting, ideally with an airbrush. Spray the typical bright high-visibility finish of the target in saturated shades; lay the decals over a gloss varnish and then unify the surface to the degree of gloss you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
