The EA-18G Growler is a two-seat carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft derived from the F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter. It inherits its airframe, its pair of turbofan engines and the cockpit layout for a pilot and a systems operator. In the US Navy it replaced the older EA-6B Prowler, and its task is jamming and suppressing radar systems. It carries hardpoints on the wing and under the fuselage both for specialized pods and for drop tanks.
It pays to paint and shade the cockpit and the wheel wells before you close the fuselage. Glue the parts with thin cement for polystyrene, fill the seams on the fuselage and on the air intakes with putty and sand them down. Apply a primer before painting, because the light gray finishes of naval aircraft show every imperfection of the surface. Spray gloss clear under the decals, use a decal softener after they are applied and even out the surface with a semi-matte top coat at the end. It is practical to build and paint the pylons and tanks separately and fit them only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
