An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIC in 1:48 scale from Italeri. The Mk.IIC version is marked by an armament of four 20 mm wing cannons. The box is usually complemented by photo-etched parts and decal schemes for several machines.
Alongside the Spitfire, the Hawker Hurricane was the main fighter of the Royal Air Force in the opening years of the war and bore a substantial share of the burden of the Battle of Britain. The Mk.IIC version with its quartet of 20 mm cannons moved the aircraft toward the role of an attack and ground-support machine able to support ground units effectively and to strike ground targets. Structurally it grew out of the proven mixed construction with fabric covering on the rear fuselage.
Finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage; the canopy can be built open. Protect the glazing with masking and attach the clear parts with glue for clear parts. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and cyanoacrylate on the photo-etched parts. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the British schemes with an airbrush. Refine the external stores and the cannon barrels at the end, and fix the decals on a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
