A supplementary set in 1:48 scale for refining the pilot area of the Japanese Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate was a Japanese army fighter of the closing stage of the Second World War, listed among the Allies under the code name Frank. Unlike the older Japanese fighters it staked everything not only on agility but also on speed, a strong structure and heavy armament, and it ranks among the best performing Japanese machines of its day. Its service was marked, however, by problems with production quality and by a shortage of good fuel, so the real performance often failed to appear.
The set brings refined equipment for the pilot area of a model in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified parts from the base kit with shapes with crisper edges and finer surface detail. The model of the aircraft is not part of the package.
The material is not polystyrene, so cement for plastic does not hold. Use cyanoacrylate or, if you prefer, a two-part glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Before painting, wash the parts in warm soapy water and degrease them, then lay down a continuous base coat. Assemble and paint the whole cockpit before you close the fuselage up, and keep dry-fitting in the meantime to see whether the fuselage halves seat without being forced apart. Leave the belts and the instrument panel for last, so that they do not get rubbed while you work. The exact fitting procedure is given in the instructions of the manufacturer.
The set is intended for modelers who build Japanese fighters in 1:48 scale and want to work the cockpit out beyond the level of the kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check the compatibility with a particular kit against the data of the manufacturer.
