Mistel 1 1:48 (ICM) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German composite aircraft of the Second World War – an unmanned Junkers Ju 88 bomber coupled with a guiding Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM brings a unique German weapon of the Second World War – the Mistel composite aircraft in 1:48 scale. The package contains two aircraft: the lower Junkers Ju 88 A-4 converted into an unmanned warhead and the upper Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-4, which guided the whole combination. The supporting structure joining the two machines is included as well. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Mistel was an improvised attack system: a retired bomber filled with explosive was flown by the pilot in the fighter mounted on top, who aimed the combination at the target, then released the lower part and returned himself. It was used for final strikes on targets that were hard to destroy. The configuration corresponds to units of 1944.
These are two separate models – lay out the building and the painting of each one separately and deal with the supporting structure at the end. Finish the cockpits before you close up the fuselages. Watch the strength of the joints of the struts, which carry the weight of the upper fighter. German camouflage schemes come out well with an airbrush and fine weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
