ICM 1:48 Nakhon Phanom Air Base is a combined set of two injection-molded plastic aircraft kits, complemented by figures and a piece of airfield runway surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
A combined plastic set in 1:48 scale from ICM brings together in one package two complete aircraft kits, figures of American personnel and parts for airfield steel planking. The set is focused on an air base and makes it possible to build a complete scene with two machines, ground crew and a taxiway surface.
The set captures a pair of aircraft connected with the American involvement in Southeast Asia: the B-26K Counter Invader attack and counter-insurgency machine and the O-2A Skymaster light observation and control aircraft. The Nakhon Phanom base in Thailand was one of the important strongpoints for these types of aircraft. Pierced steel planking (PSP) was a typical feature of improvised field runways.
Plan the build one aircraft at a time and finish the cockpits before closing the fuselages. The figures and the steel planking form the basis of a vignette, which you complete with pigments and effects for dust and oil stains. Overcoat with gloss varnish before the decals and unify the surface with matte varnish after they are applied. The airfield planking comes out well once the joints are brought out with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
