The kit covers the upgraded version of the OV-10 Bronco light attack and observation aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is issued by ICM, a Ukrainian manufacturer that has several versions of the Bronco worked out alongside one another in this code series. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the exact number of parts, the contents of the package and the number of marking schemes are not stated here.
The Bronco came about as a specialized aircraft for close support and battlefield observation. Its layout with a pair of turboprop engines, booms running back into a twin tail and a glazed tandem cockpit gave it a very good view downward and forward, a short takeoff and the ability to operate from improvised sites. The OV-10D+ version represents an upgraded standard with equipment for work in poor visibility; its hallmarks are a reworked nose and different details of the engine nacelles compared with early machines.
On a twin-boom structure it is crucial to keep the booms and the tail surfaces in line — glue the assembly on a flat surface and let it cure without any load on it. The interior of the tandem cockpit is clearly visible through the extensive glazing, so it pays to spend time on it and to pick out the instrument panels and the harness. Mask the glazing and glue it with a glue for clear parts that does not fog them. Apply the camouflage thinly, bring out the transitions between shades by lightening the centers of the panels gently and at the end add a flowing shade into the engraved lines and fine exhaust staining behind the engines.
