An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian missile cruiser Moskva of the Slava class in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the massive superstructure and the characteristic angled launch containers of the anti-ship missiles. The box contains parts for a full hull as well as a waterline form, decals and a display stand, so you have everything in the box for building a striking model of the Cold War era.
The cruisers of the Slava class (project 1164) are large Soviet and later Russian missile cruisers armed with a powerful battery of anti-ship guided missiles in conspicuous angled containers along the sides of the superstructure. The ship built as Slava was later renamed Moskva and served as the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. She is a typical example of the Soviet concept of a heavily armed strike cruiser.
Use liquid cement for plastic and build in subassemblies. Decide in advance between a full hull and a waterline form on the enclosed stand. Finish and paint the superstructures, the radars and the missile blocks before the final assembly; add the fine antennas and railings at the end. Apply a primer and spray the paints with an airbrush; in a small scale a light emphasis of the panels and restrained weathering help. Photo-etched railings are a suitable accessory.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
