An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet rocket launcher BM-13-16 Katyusha in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The model combines the rocket launcher mount with sixteen guide rails and the postwar chassis of the ZiL-157 cross-country truck. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts and a decal sheet.
The Katyusha was a multiple rocket weapon that became the symbol of Soviet rocket artillery in the Second World War. The BM-13-16 launcher carried sixteen guide rails for 132 mm rockets and could blanket an area target in a short salvo. After the war the mount was fitted to more modern chassis, among them the ZiL-157 cross-country truck.
Assemble the chassis, the axles and the cab first, then the launcher with its guide rails. Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic; attach the delicate rails of the launcher carefully. Apply primer and paint with an airbrush; bring the military green to life by picking out the panels with a wash and with dust pigments on the chassis. Paint the launcher and the rockets separately, as access to them is easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
