An injection-molded plastic kit of the British military motorcycle Triumph 3HW in the large 1:9 scale from Italeri. The large scale allows rich detail of the frame, the single-cylinder engine, the chain drive, the handlebars and the period panniers. The model has well divided parts, decals and clear instructions. Once assembled it makes a large and striking model of the classic dispatch rider's motorcycle.
The Triumph 3HW was based on the civilian Tiger 80 model and was powered by a single-cylinder OHV engine. During the Second World War it served on every front where the British armed forces fought, from Africa through Europe to Asia. Motorcycles of this type were used above all by signallers and dispatch riders to pass on orders and keep communication between units.
Assemble and paint the engine and the frame first, and only then fit the visible parts. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and clean the mating faces carefully. Apply the matte military finish with an airbrush after spraying a primer; bring the chain, the exhaust and the leather panniers to life with separate shades, and a fine panel wash with pigments will give the machine a period-worn look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
