The Revell brush from the Standard range carries size 4 in its name. The range is graded from the finest sizes 00 and 0 up to size 6, so size 4 belongs to its heavier half. It is used where more paint has to be carried onto a model at once: the base coat of a cockpit, the area of a chassis, painting the base under a diorama or applying paint to a larger part of a fuselage.
Load the paint only onto part of the length of the hair, not right to the root; paint that dries at the ferrule splays the hair and the shape will never come back. Draw the brush smoothly in one direction and do not press, because pressure spreads the hair sideways and the stroke frays. Clean the brush right after work with the product intended for the paint used, rinse it and shape the hair between your fingers. Let it dry lying down or hanging hair downward, not resting on the hair at the bottom of a container. The hair material and the length of the handle are given in the manufacturer's data.
It is a working brush for ordinary painting, not a brush for fine details and insignia; for those reach for the smallest sizes of the same range. It also serves well for applying a base coat or a stain and for flooding paint into larger recesses.
One brush is supplied. Paints, thinner, cleaner and a water jar are not included, unless stated otherwise.
