Dusty Rose comes from the Acrylic Color line of the brand Green Stuff World, that is from the water-based acrylics intended for figures and models for a gaming table. It thins with water or with an acrylic thinner, cleans with water and does not mix with lacquers or with oil paints. The shade belongs to the pink group with a dusty, subdued pitch.
Besides the classic method of base, shadow and highlight there is one more step that moves a figure forward most for the least effort: a heavily thinned coat drawn over an area that is already finished. Thin the paint so that it is translucent, blot the brush well on paper and draw it over the area in one calm stroke. The shadows and highlights underneath show through, but the whole surface is tied together into one tone. A subdued pink suits this particularly well, because it can warm skin, soften overly raw white fabrics and give stone or marble a cast that cannot be got out of pure gray. The key is patience: better three translucent passes than one thick one that would flood the detail.
For modelers who work with glazes and fine tuning of tones, and for players who want a non-trivial secondary color in the scheme of a unit. With a brush it is applied straight; for an airbrush it is thinned.
