About product

The color

Aggressor Blue is a more saturated blue-gray shade from the training schemes of American squadrons that played the opponent in mock combat. Their aircraft were painted in combinations imitating the finishes of foreign machines, so that crews in training saw a silhouette in front of them that looked different from their own aircraft. In these schemes the blue fields alternate with gray ones and are usually separated by a soft transition.

What the number in the name means

FS 35109 is a designation from the American federal standard of color shades. The first digit in it expresses the degree of gloss and the second the color group, so this number refers to a flat shade from the blue series. The number makes comparison with the shades of other manufacturers easier: paints with the same FS code should match each other regardless of who made them.

Application and thinning

Stir the bottle well before use, the pigment settles at the bottom and unstirred paint comes out differently. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging; clean your tools with the same thinner right after the work is finished. Apply several light coats instead of one heavy one, so that the coat does not flood the fine surface detail. Wash and degrease the model beforehand. With multicolor schemes let the first paint cure properly and only then lay the mask, otherwise the tape will tear off the edge of the coat as it comes away.

  • the shade Aggressor Blue referring to the FS 35109 standard
