A styrene angle with a section in the shape of the letter L, both legs 4.0 mm, the length 350 mm and 3 pieces in the pack. It is a building blank for modelers, not a part of a particular model. The L profile is the most universal of the whole family of profiles - a right angle holds its shape by itself, so it serves as a structural element and at the same time as an aid for gluing two surfaces together accurately at a corner.

What the profile is for

Most often it is used to build frames, corner reinforcements, supports and braces, railings and walkways on dioramas, lattice structures and replacements for missing angles on older kits. It also works very well out of sight: glued inside the corner of a large part it keeps the walls at a right angle and stops them bowing, which anyone building larger bodies, buildings or superstructures will appreciate.

Working tips

• Cut with a sharp knife or a fine saw, then true the edges with abrasive paper.
• Use thin cement for polystyrene, which runs into the joint by capillary action.
• When building frames, check the right angle with a square while the cement is setting.
• An angle glued inside a corner works as an invisible reinforcement against bowing walls.
• Degrease the surface and apply a primer before painting.
