Arched street lamps with a cast iron pole, HO scale

Working street lighting from the Just Plug system by the manufacturer Woodland Scenics, in the form of lamps on a cast iron pole with a curved arm in HO scale. It is not a kit and not a decorative dummy: the lights have a built-in LED and a lead terminated with a plug, so once installed into the scenery they really light up. An ornamental arched pole belongs in older urban buildings: on main avenues, squares, park promenades or in front of a station building.

How the Just Plug system works

• A light is connected with a plug, with no soldering and no working out of resistors.
• The brightness is set centrally on the hub, so an evening scene can be dimmed as needed.
• The light is seated into the scenery through a hole in the base, through which the lead passes.
• The system is expandable; further lights and lit elements can be added gradually.

Installation

Think the layout through before you start drilling. Arched lamps stand out in a regular row along a sidewalk or symmetrically on either side of a roadway; that is exactly how they recall a historic city. Drill a hole in the base matching the diameter of the lead, set the pole upright and run the leads under the board; mark them at once, while you still know which belongs where. Finish the installation before applying grass and scenic materials. Deal with the connection and the power supply according to the instructions for the hub of the system; neither the hub nor the power supply is included in this package, unless stated otherwise.

Who the lights are for

For builders of layouts and dioramas in HO scale with older urban buildings, and for modelers who want to light a scene without electrical knowledge. Lighting is one of the few elements that transform a scene immediately and visibly.

Connect the lights only to a power supply recommended by the manufacturer of the system. Handle the leads carefully, as they are thin and mechanically delicate.
