Bluish Grey is a bluish gray, that is a gray tone with a blue cast. Cool grays of this kind are among the most used shades on the modeling bench: they appear on the finishes of ships and their superstructures, on the undersides of aircraft, in modern aircraft schemes and on a range of civilian machines, and they serve just as well as a base under lighter tones or as a transitional layer between white and dark gray. Real finishes, moreover, looked different in every light, so a slight shift of shade is no mistake on a model.
Choose the thinner, the thinning ratio and the cleaning of tools according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging and use a thinner intended for this range. Stir the bottle well before work, so that the pigment settled at the bottom disperses through the whole volume. Apply the paint in thin coats and let each one dry; one heavy coat drowns engraving, rivets and fine surface relief. Before you start on the model, test the coverage on an offcut of plastic with the same surface underneath.
Wash and degrease the model before painting; paint does not hold on a greasy surface even after a primer. A cool gray takes emphasis well: a lighter tone applied into the middle of large areas brightens the scene, and a darker tone in the panel lines adds depth. Before applying decals and weathering, cover the area with a protective varnish according to the instructions of its manufacturer.
The model, brushes, the thinner and a protective varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
