ATOM COLOR Pacific Green – a shade from the ATOM color line

A single bottle of one shade from the ATOM modeling color line of the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is not a kit and not a set, but a paint for finishing models. The shade carries the name Pacific Green and belongs among the green tones, which form one of the largest groups in the ATOM line.

Where the shade is useful

Greens are the hardest-working group of shades in modeling. They come into play on the camouflage schemes of vehicles and aircraft, on crates and equipment, on diorama vegetation and on the uniforms of figures. Because the look of green changes optically on a scale model, it also serves well as an intermediate step when modulating surfaces, working from the base tone toward lighter panel centers. The manufacturer does not give an FS, RAL or RLM standard code for this shade, so when you build to a specific scheme, compare the sprayed color against a color chart.

Tips for working with the paint

• Stir the bottle thoroughly before every use.
• Apply the green in thin coats; the tone shifts with every coat.
• Over a light base it reads brighter, over a dark one it darkens markedly.
• If you thin the paint or clean your tools, reach for the thinner and cleaner from the same ATOM line.
• A test spray on a scrap surface is especially useful with green shades.
