About product

ATOM COLOR Pale Grey - an AMMO acrylic paint, 20 ml

This is a modeling paint, not a kit. The package holds one 20 ml bottle of the Pale Grey shade from the ATOM COLOR range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. ATOM is a newer generation water-thinnable acrylic that behaves close to a lacquer: a very fine pigment, high covering power, self-leveling and fast drying to a smooth flat surface. Once dry the coat stands up to masking tape, decals and subsequent aging with enamels and oils.

The shade is a very light, pale gray with a delicate bluish cast. The manufacturer declares it as FS 36480 and at the same time as the equivalent of RLM 76, the light color of the undersurfaces of German aircraft of the Second World War. It is the lightest of the grays here: markedly lighter than the blue-gray Blue Gray and incomparably lighter than the dark British Ocean Grey.

Use

  • The undersurfaces of German aircraft of the Second World War (RLM 76) and light aircraft surfaces in general.
  • A light base under opaque camouflage and brightening the centers of panels (modulation, picking out along rivets and plates).
  • Lightening other shades: a few drops shift a darker gray or blue without losing the tone.
  • Light naval surfaces, superstructures and details, where you need a pale gray with no greenish cast.

Who it is for

For aircraft modelers, builders of German subjects above all, and for anyone who needs a versatile very light gray for undersides, lightening and light modulation. Do not confuse it with Ocean Grey: that is the dark British color of upper surfaces, while this is the pale color of undersides.

A water-thinnable acrylic with no odor. Ventilate when airbrushing and use a respirator, and do not breathe the atomized paint. Keep out of the reach of children, protect from frost and close the bottle carefully after use.

FAQ

The undersurfaces of aircraft; the manufacturer declares it as the equivalent of RLM 76, the light shade of the undersides of German aircraft of the Second World War. It also serves excellently as a lightening component in other shades and for brightening the centers of panels in light modulation.

Pale Grey is the lightest and palest of the three, the color of undersurfaces. Blue Gray is a deeper blue-gray. Ocean Grey, by contrast, is a dark gray with a blue cast that belongs on the upper surfaces of British fighters. They cannot be interchanged.

It is a water-thinnable acrylic optimized for the airbrush as well. It is thinned with water or with AMMO acrylic thinner. Do not use lacquer (nitro) or enamel thinner.

No, it is one bottle of 20 ml. It is not a kit and not a set; glue, other paints and a model are not included.
