B-25J glazed nose 1/48

B-25J with a glazed nose 1:48 — a Big Ed collection from Eduard

This is an add-on for a model, not a kit of an aircraft. The Big Ed line from the Czech manufacturer Eduard brings several separately sold add-on sets for one particular model together in a single package. This collection is intended for the model of the twin-engine bomber B-25J in the version with a glazed nose in 1:48 scale. Check the exact composition of the package, that is which particular sets it contains and in what quantity, against the box.

What to expect from the collection

Collections in this line usually aim at the places where a plastic kit has the largest shortcomings: the interior and the instrument panel, the seat belts, the landing gear bays and other areas where fine material is needed. On a large twin-engine bomber with a glazed nose the inside is clearly visible, so the add-ons show in the result. Whether the package also contains masking elements depends on the particular composition of the collection; check it against the box.

Usage tips

Plan the build in advance, as a large part of the add-ons is fitted before the fuselage is closed, so you have to go through them before you start gluing. Cut the photo-etched parts off with a scalpel against a hard surface and bend them in a bending tool, not with tweezers. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer, otherwise the paint flakes off. Place the color elements applied by decal technique onto a smooth gloss base and shape them with a softener. Before you fit the finished interior into the fuselage, always test the fit dry: with the metal parts added, the inside tends to be wider than the plastic allows for.

Who the collection is for

• Builders of the B-25J with a glazed nose in 1:48 scale.
• Modelers who want several sets at once in one package.
• More experienced builders with experience of photo-etched parts.

This is not a kit of an aircraft, but a collection of add-ons for a model. Before buying, check that it matches your B-25J kit in 1:48 scale. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
