A small imitation of fasteners for models. The head is cylindrical and in its face it has a star-shaped recess for a key, that is the drive commonly called torx. The size given in the name is 1.0 mm, that is a size noticeable on a finished model even without magnification.
The star drive spread on machines later than the hexagon, so it suits above all models of newer motorcycles and sports machines. It tends to be visible on the mounting of brake discs and calipers, on engine covers, on footpegs and on exhaust clamps. A cylindrical head stands out above the surface, and at a size this small that is an advantage: the element keeps a shadow of its own and is not lost in the detail even under a heavier layer of paint.
For the modeler who is finishing a machine with exposed mechanics and wants the fasteners legible even in a close photograph. This is an accessory for a kit, not a kit in itself. A model, paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
