Small imitations of screws with an internal hex in the size range of 0.5 to 0.7 mm. In the middle of the head is a recess for an Allen key, so on a model it reads differently from an ordinary external hexagon and it belongs where exactly this type of joint is used on the real subject as well.

A range of sizes in one package

The figure of 0.5 to 0.7 mm says that the item covers a band of small sizes, not a single size. The builder can thus pick and choose: for a fine joint on a cover he reaches for the smaller element, for a more prominent place on the frame for the larger one. So lay the element against the part before drilling, compare it with the shapes around it and only then choose the bit. It is also worth thinking out in advance which size you will fit where, so that two differently sized heads do not end up side by side on one assembly.

How to fit the elements

First level the suggested detail in the place of the joint, so that the new head seats on its whole face. Drill the hole at right angles and rather shallower; a deep hole swallows the element and the head tilts. Dose cyanoacrylate glue with the tip of a wire into the hole, never onto the head, because an excess floods the recess and all that is left of the Allen is a bump. Work over a light-colored pad from which you will find an element that has fallen.
