0.8 millimeters, a lowered hexagon head for the side covers of an engine and the lids of inspection holes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The side cover of the clutch, the ignition cover or the plate of the oil pump are pulled to the engine around their circumference by a row of identical heads. There tend to be six, eight or even twelve of them, spaced regularly all the way around, because the gasket under the cover has to seat evenly. On a finished model such a ring is one of the most conspicuous particulars of an engine at all: the eye picks out the regular rhythm before the shape of the cover itself.
0.8 millimeters matches exactly this group. It is the first step of the upper half of the range offered, that is the size that already carries something but is not yet counted among the coarse ones. Beside it on a real engine there are also the caps of inspection holes, the plugs for valve adjustment and the flanges of sensors, which are screwed with the same sizes.
In filling in a ring, regularity decides more than the accuracy of an individual piece. It pays to lay the fitting out beforehand, best of all from the traces of the original hint, and to seat the heads in opposite pairs, so that the spacings do not gradually drift. A lowered profile helps here – a lower head forgives a small deviation in height better than a tall one.
