0.9 millimeters, a low hexagon intended for exhaust flanges and silencer clamps.
Responsibility details are not available.
The exhaust header is drawn to the cylinder head by two or four joints through a clamp or a flange, and it is one of the few places on a machine where the head is permanently visible from close by and at the same time tends to be set apart in color. Beside it there are also the clamps of the silencer, the clips of heat shields and the mounts of the tailpipe to the frame. All of them have to take thermal expansion, so they tend to be a step coarser than the joints on covers.
0.9 millimeters matches this group well. It is the second to last size before a full millimeter and on a model it differs recognizably from the neighboring steps when they are laid side by side. On real machinery it is exactly here that it shows why the head stays low: a tall prism would be in the way at a hot header and would be harder to reach with a key.
The joints around the exhaust are loosened most often and also suffer the most. The edges of the heads tend to be rubbed by a key and the surface discolored by heat to blue or brown. Anyone building a machine in working condition can make use of that: a metal part can be tinted and polished differently from its surroundings, and that is an effect hard to achieve on a molded hint.
