0.9 millimeters, an intermediate step in the middle of the larger five. A hexagon head with a lowered crown for motorcycle models.
Responsibility details are not available.
0.9 mm is a step modeling ranges often forget – between 0.8 mm and a full millimeter it is simply missing. Here it exists and that is worth mentioning, because it is exactly this difference of one tenth that often decides whether a fitted joint sits with the parts around it or stands out from them.
The crown of the head is lowered, so the shape stays flat even at a larger diameter. On a real machine a great many joints match such a size, ones that carry a load but are not meant to be conspicuous: the engine mounting feet, the mounting of the radiator or the screws holding the seat frame.
Modelers who build from photographs most often face the choice between 0.8 mm and a millimeter. 0.9 mm settles that dispute: it is noticeably larger than the smaller option and still does not come close to what looks oversized on a model. The package of larger diameters holds this step, but anyone who has already tried the size out will top up just that one.
If you are hesitating between neighboring sizes, lay them both on the part and look at them from the side, not from above. From above they look almost the same; in profile the difference is obvious at once and you will decide in a second.
