Hardware on a real machine is not all one shape. Different heads sit next to each other depending on what each joint holds and how often it is undone. A modeler who has several versions on hand can carry that difference over to the model, and the result then does not look like a sample card of one shape repeated over and over.
These are bolts with a low-profile arbor head in the 0.9 mm size. The dimension suits medium joints: the mounting of covers, brackets and accessories, where the detail should be clear but must not overpower the surrounding shapes. Paired with a finer or a bolder size, the model gains a more natural layering.
Pre-drill the hole with a bit matching the size and dry-fit the part before you reach for glue. If it has no thread, glue it into the hole. Work with fine-tipped tweezers over a surface with a raised rim. Meter the glue with the tip of a wire; any excess that seeps out around the head rounds off the edge, and the detail you fitted the bolt for disappears under the glue.
They suit builders of motorcycles and other machinery who tell types of joint apart on the model and want more than one head shape on hand.
