Small imitations of a bolt with a slot in the head, that is with a head for a flat screwdriver, in the 0.8 mm size. The minus designation in the name points to that same straight groove in the face of the head.
A slotted head belongs to older designs and to small joints that are loosened often: to caps, to sheet-metal covers, to instrument panels, to cable brackets and to toolboxes. It is precisely such joints that tend to be only a shallow circle on a model, because an injection mold cannot hold a fine groove. An installed part gives it back and the head then holds its shape in a close-up photograph even in shadow.
First prepare the place: sand the original suggested head flat and clear the surface of any remaining paint so that the part seats. Fix the position with a shallow recess drilled square. Pick the part up with fine-tipped tweezers or carry it on the moistened tip of a toothpick, offer it up dry and only then apply a minute drop of cyanoacrylate glue with the tip of a wire into the recess. Wipe the surplus off immediately; a dried stain around the head is removed only with difficulty and tends to be more visible than the joint itself.
The groove in the head is shallow, so it is easily clogged with paint. Spray in thin coats and rather from a greater distance; a heavy spray floods it in a moment. The rest of the work is done by a dark coat that can be wiped off the surrounding surface after drying and stays in the slot. The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
