An aerosol paint by the brand Green Stuff World, which leaves a dark metallic gloss with marked mirroring on a smooth base. Against ordinary silver chrome it is a shade shifted toward black, so the result looks more like hardened metal than a polished mirror. The volume of the can is 400 ml, which is enough even for larger objects such as costume parts or props.
Mirror-like surfaces are merciless to the quality of the base. Every scratch, fingerprint and remnant of sanding dust is emphasized in the reflection, so smooth and degrease the surface first. The best gloss is achieved on a perfectly smooth black gloss base. Shake the can for a minute and spray from a distance in several very thin passes, letting each one set. One heavy coat, by contrast, kills the gloss. The finished surface is sensitive to touch and to overvarnishing, so test its compatibility with other products on an offcut to one side.
