The black PLAYMARKER pen

A pen from the PLAYMARKER range in a black shade. The tip applies the paint directly, so there is no brush, no palette and no mixing. That is appreciated on narrow features and small areas, where preparing the paint takes more time than the painting itself, and for short jobs that do not justify opening a bottle.

Where the color is used

Black is the most universal of the whole range. It is used on outlines and for picking out engraved lines, on rubber and leather parts, on straps, belts and holsters, on soles and grips, in small recesses that are meant to stay in shadow, and on eyes and the openings of gun barrels. It also serves well for repairing places where the dark base coat has been rubbed off while handling the model.

How to work with the pen

• Test the shade first on a piece of scrap plastic or on a spot that will not be visible on the finished model.
• Apply a thin coat and let it dry; a second pass deepens the shade.
• Wipe the tip now and then so that paint from the model surface does not clog it.
• On a matte base the paint holds more reliably than on a smooth gloss coat.
• Handle thinning, cleaning of the tip and any clear coating according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
• Store the pen carefully closed so that the tip does not dry out.

What is supplied is the pen in the stated shade. Other shades, clear coats and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Keep out of the reach of children and work in a well-ventilated room.
