A set of four modeling paints in 17 ml bottles, put together for British armored vehicles in North-West Europe in 1944 and 1945.
Responsibility details are not available.
Four bottles of modeling paint of 17 ml each, chosen for a single subject: British armored vehicles in North-West Europe at the end of the Second World War. The advantage of a ready-made set is that the shades belong together. Anyone who puts them together one at a time from different lines usually finds out only on the model that they do not hold tone against tone.
British equipment, which fought its way from the Normandy landings through France and the Netherlands into Germany, carried a largely single-color finish, unlike the German vehicles. Variety on a model therefore has to come from something other than camouflage: the white Allied markings, tactical numbers, the load on the deck and above all the traces of the campaign. In Normandy that was light dust, in the autumn muddy roads, and in the winter of 1944 snow and mud caked on the running gear.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Thin it with the medium the manufacturer recommends for this line; water or thinner from another line may not work. Spray several thin coats and let them set between one another, as a single heavy coat drowns both engraving and rivets. On large areas it helps to lighten the middle of the panels a little, so that the vehicle does not look like one solid block.
The package contains four bottles of paint of 17 ml each. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and varnish are not part of it, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the bottles closed and out of the reach of children.
