British Light Mud 17 ml.

Real Colors RC872 British Light Mud, 17 ml

An acrylic modeling paint from the Real Colors line by AK Interactive, listed under the manufacturer code RC872. The bottle holds 17 ml. The shade carries the name Light Mud and is a light earth tone with an ocher cast.

Where the shade is useful

Light Mud belongs to the light camouflage shades of British vehicles of the North African campaign, where a light finish disappeared better in dusty country than a dark green. On a model it serves as an overall base for armored and truck vehicles. It also suits well outside that theme, anywhere you need a light earth surface: on crates, tarpaulins and wooden parts, or as the starting tone for later deposits of dust.

How to work with the paint

• Shake the bottle properly before you take any out, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Apply it in several thin coats; one thick coat floods the engraving and the rivets.
• A light earth tone easily merges into a dull area over a large surface, so lighten the centers of panels slightly and darken the areas around the seams.
• For thinning and for cleaning, use the thinner intended for the Real Colors line; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Try the shade on scrap plastic first and only then spray the model.

Packaging and storage

Keep the paint in a carefully closed bottle away from heat and frost. Thickened paint can be thinned again, but check the resulting tone on a test sample beforehand. The package contains one bottle of 17 ml. The thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
