A single brush of size 3 from the Classic Series 2 line, which the manufacturer marks with an orange label. Take care when ordering: the brand also carries the same number of size in the Classic Series 1 line with the brown label, so go by the designation of the line to get exactly what you want. The number in the name gives the size, and three is the classic universal size which manages detail and a smaller continuous surface alike. Mirage Hobby is a brand with a wide range for modelers, from kits to supplies for painting; the brushes are only one of its branches.

What it is suited to

• ordinary details: equipment, tools, interior elements, exhausts, small markings
• smaller continuous surfaces with no visible strokes
• glazes and washes that are to run into engraved lines and around a detail
• retouching after unmasking and evening up the edges of camouflage

Maintenance and cleaning

Wash the brush out right after work: acrylics with water or a brush cleaner, enamels and lacquers with the matching thinner. Do not take up paint as far as the ferrule and do not let it dry there; it would spread the bristles and the stroke would open out permanently. After washing, draw the bristles to a point with your fingers and let the brush dry bristles upwards. For a dry brush set an older piece aside, because that technique wears the bristles down quickly.

Who it is for

For modelers who paint with a brush, and also for those who spray with an airbrush and need a brush for finishing work. A universal size which is always worth having in your set of equipment, and two of them is no bad thing either, so that one piece stays reserved for light colors and the other for dark glazes.
