Sanding strips of 400 grit from Albion Alloys. A fine level for refining a surface in tight places.
Responsibility details are not available.
400 grit is among the finer levels. It is not used to remove material, but so that the scratches left by coarser levels disappear and the surface is evened out. It is the grit after which, on models, you usually move on to an even finer refinement or straight to the primer, depending on how smooth the result is to be. The shape of the strip is the main thing here: a thin flexible backing can be bent, wrapped around a shape or pulled through a gap where ordinary sandpaper and a file will not reach. Strips of the same grit in one package suit anyone who knows which stage of the work they use up the most.
The strips suit anyone who refines a surface before painting, that is on sanded joints, filled places and resin parts. They also come in useful for intermediate sanding between coats of clear and for removing specks of dust from a fresh finish.
Sand in a ventilated room and do not inhale the dust. Store out of the reach of children.
