The GAS HANS range of wing bolts covers sizes from 1.0 to 3.5 mm and this set corresponds to the size of 2.5 mm, that is, to the upper end of the span. It finds a use mainly with large scales and with models where the hardware is to be legible even from a distance. It is not a kit but modeling fastening material. The figure in the name is the size of the part according to the manufacturer, not a scale.
The larger the scale, the less a model forgives a flat or missing small thing. A wing bolt with a prominent head is one of the details the eye finds immediately: it sits on covers, tool brackets, the fastening of tarpaulins or of jerrycans. A three-dimensional part can moreover be painted differently from its surroundings, so it acts as a separate component and not as a part of the casting.
Lay the placement out according to period photographs or drawings, so that the arrangement makes sense. Drill the hole with a micro drill, set the part in place with super glue applied with a pin and draw the excess off at once. Larger heads weather well: after the base shade it is enough to go over them with a dry brush with a metallic pigment and the bolt immediately looks used.
It is modeling fastening material, not a kit.
