A scribing tip in cemented carbide with a working part 1.2 mm wide is a tool for coarse scribing. In modeling practice it is used where a groove is meant to carry a shadow of its own: divided facings, open structural joints in large scales, deck planks, imitations of masonry and wood on a diorama base, or preparing a groove into which a thin plastic profile is then set.
For modelers who work with larger scales of vehicles and with dioramas, and for those who make their own parts from plastic sheet. This size does not suit the fine panel lines of aircraft in small scales, where the result would look coarse. Cemented carbide is hard but brittle: do not force it, as the work should be done by the edge and the number of strokes, not by pressure. On a model, try scribing on a hidden area first, for instance on the inside of a part, where a mistake will not be visible once it is finished.
A very sharp and breakable tip. Work on a firm surface, protect your eyes in case the blade chips, and store the tool out of the reach of children.
