A universal Omask masking sheet with pre-cut circles 4.5 mm in diameter, in the version with Oramask foil. It is not a set cut for one particular kit but a universal template you will use whenever you need an exact circle on a model. That does away with the laborious cutting of discs from adhesive tape, where it is almost impossible to hold the same diameter and a clean edge.
A circle of this size will cover wheel discs and hubs, headlight covers, round hatches and lids, brake discs and circular elements of markings. It also serves well on mottled camouflage, where you need to hold the same spot diameter over the whole surface of the model, and when painting instruments and openings in an interior. Because the masks are universal, they serve across scales and kinds of subject, that is, on aircraft, vehicles, ships and accessories for figures.
The surface has to be clean, degreased and perfectly dry; do not stick a mask onto fresh paint. Lift the disc off the sheet with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, seat it in place and press the edges down carefully, with a wooden toothpick for instance, so no paint runs under them. Spray several thin layers rather than one heavy one and hold the airbrush perpendicular to the surface, not at a shallow angle. Take the mask off slowly and at a shallow angle to the surface as soon as the paint has set.
Omask offers the same pattern in two masking media: as Oramask masking foil and as yellow masking tape. The variant offered here is with Oramask foil. The shape and the dimensions are the same in both; only the medium differs, so choose according to what you are used to working with on the bench.
Paints, thinners and tools are not included in the package.
