A jig for car models in 1:24 scale

An aid intended for building car models in 1:24 scale. According to the name it is made up of 3D printed parts and metal parts. It is neither a kit nor an accessory to go into a model: it stays on the work table and serves repeatedly with every further car.

What the jig is good for

A car model is assembled from parts which hold together on only a few small faces. Before the glue sets, little is needed for the chassis to collapse into a parallelogram, for an axle to seat a little too high or for the body to twist. The jig holds the parts in the chosen position throughout the setting time, so the result does not depend on how long you can hold the components with your fingers. Usage tips

• Always put the assembly together dry first and check that the parts meet without stress.
• Take care that no glue gets between the model and the jig; a smooth surface can be rubbed with wax or backed with tape.
• Keep the metal parts clean and dry, and remove dried glue residue at once.
• Do not load the printed parts with force beyond what they are intended for and do not expose them to heat.
• Leave the model in the jig until the joint has cured completely, not just until it has set.
