The Hasegawa copper mirror film is a self-adhesive material with a high sheen for imitating polished copper on a model. It is not a paint and not a decal soaked in water; it is stuck straight onto a finished part.
Responsibility details are not available.
A self-adhesive film from the Finish modeling range of the Japanese company Hasegawa, with a highly glossy surface in a copper shade. It imitates polished metal where neither paint nor a metallic finish will give a surface smooth and reflective enough: on trim strips, covers, exhaust parts, mirrors, instrument bezels or small interior details. The material is very thin and pliable, so it can be pressed even onto mildly curved surfaces without visible creasing.
It is not a paint and not a decal transferred with water. It is a film with an adhesive layer, which is cut to the shape required and stuck straight onto a part. Clear coating, drying and the risk of a delicate metallic finish being damaged during masking all fall away. The resulting sheen is mirror-like, that is considerably higher than can be achieved with sprayed paint.
The surface underneath has to be smooth, free of dust and degreased, because every irregularity will show under such a thin layer. Cut the shape with a fresh blade or a punch with a small overhang, peel the backing off and lay the film down from one edge, so that no air is closed in under it. Press it down with a soft tool, for example a cotton swab or a finger through a cloth, and trim the surplus only on the model. Apply it at the end of the build, after clear coating; thinners and superglue can permanently damage the surface.
This is an accessory material, not a kit. Paints, glue and clear coat are not included in the package.
