Academy Da Vinci Machines Catapult is a plastic kit of the mechanical catapult from Leonardo da Vinci's drawing.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Academy, part of the Da Vinci Machines range, represents a catapult designed after the ideas of Leonardo da Vinci. It is not a scale model of a particular siege engine but a working mechanical and educational model that demonstrates the principle of a throwing arm driven by a wound spring. The model is usually assembled without glue or with a minimum of gluing.
In his drawings Leonardo da Vinci refined the construction of a throwing engine that used elastic energy to hurl a projectile. The model brings his engineering thinking closer, along with the principle of storing energy in a tensioned arm that flings an object once released.
Follow the instructions exactly: the throwing mechanism and the elastic elements have to engage correctly for the model to work. Take care over the free running of the moving parts and over safe handling of the tensioned arm. The model can be left in its natural appearance or finished with paints.
The model is supplied unassembled. Paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
