A Mr.Paint modeling paint in a dark rusty brown shade matching the RAL 8002 color chart.
Responsibility details are not available.
A dark rusty brown according to the RAL color chart, number 8002. It is a saturated brown tone with a cast toward red, that is the color you know from weathered sheet metal and from the older finishes of technical equipment. On a model it serves both as a full finish for brown surfaces and as a base for rust, because it lies between brown and orange rust color without shouting.
On the brown surfaces of military and civilian vehicles, on wooden elements, crates and cargo tarpaulins, on rail vehicles and on buildings in a diorama. It also serves well as the underlying layer when building rust effects: lighter orange tones go over it and the result has more depth than when rust is built from a single shade. The reference to the RAL chart makes combining it with paints of other ranges easier.
Stir the paint before use, because the pigment settles when it stands. It is applied in thin layers on a washed and degreased surface, ideally over a primer, and each layer should be allowed to set. On areas with a hard transition, stick a mask or masking tape on before spraying. For rust patches, applying it with a brush with a small amount of paint or by stippling works too, but always try it on a scrap piece first. The recommended thinner and thinning ratio are given in the manufacturer's information.
For the modeler who builds vehicles and scenery and needs a dependable dark brown tone. The package holds only the paint; thinner, primer and tools are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
