Playmarker pen, desert ocher

A marker pen from the Playmarker range in a desert ocher shade, that is, in a muted yellow-brown tone close to dry earth and sand. The tip applies the paint directly, so a brush, a palette and mixing are all avoided and all you need for the work is the model, a mat and a moment of time. On small areas that is a noticeable saving, because preparing paint takes longer than the painting itself.

Where ocher comes into its own

Muted earth tones are among the most used colors on a model. Desert ocher suits canvas, the straps and satchels of equipment, sand-colored accessories and crates, the dry earth of display bases and the light elements of desert camouflage. On figures it suits the fabric parts of clothing, ropes and the wooden handles of tools. Because it is a calm shade it sits well beside brown and gray areas and does not draw attention to itself.

How to work with the marker

• Try the shade out first on an offcut of plastic or in a hidden place on the model.
• Wash and degrease the area before painting; on a greasy surface the mark breaks up.
• Apply thin layers and let them dry; a second pass deepens the shade.
• On complex surfaces run the tip over the raised places and leave the recesses darker.
• Wipe the tip from time to time so that it does not pick up paint from places already painted.
• For priming the tip, thinning and cleaning follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.

The marker is supplied in the stated shade. A model, figures, other shades and clear coats are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and keep the marker out of the reach of children.
