DULL DARK GREEN FS 34092 – AIR

Dull Dark Green FS 34092 - an AK interactive acrylic paint

A bottled acrylic paint thinnable with water for aircraft models. With this shade the standard number in the name matters more than the name itself: the same green is called something different by every manufacturer, and the only thing by which you can reliably pair paints across brands is precisely the FS number. The shade belongs in multitone tactical schemes, where it is joined with other green and gray tones.

Use

• In a multitone scheme the order decides. Spray from the lightest shade to the darkest, otherwise you will be laboriously covering dark green with a light color.
• Make soft transitions freehand, with heavily thinned paint and at low pressure. Hold the airbrush close and rather add another pass than create an edge with one heavy application.
• Where the scheme had a hard edge, use a mask raised above the surface, for example a rope of modeling putty or tape with a packed-up edge. Flat tape stuck down firmly creates an edge that is too hard.
• Stir the remains of thinned paint in the cup of the airbrush before every further pass. Green shades separate quickly once thinned, and the second pass then comes out different.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who build American aircraft according to the shades of the FS standard and want the dark green component of a scheme precisely defined. It is an acrylic thinnable with water or with an acrylic thinner; it is not mixed with lacquer ranges, including the lacquer range of the same manufacturer, and it does not stand their thinner.

Shake the bottle, spray in a ventilated space and with respiratory protection. Keep tightly closed, protect from frost and keep out of the reach of children.
