An accessory set from Eduard intended to replace the plastic main landing gear legs on the large Messerschmitt Bf 109G kits in 1:32 scale from Revell. The parts are supplied as accurate castings, or rather printed components, and are designed as a direct replacement for the matching plastic parts. It is not an airplane model: without a base kit you will not be able to use the set.
The Bf 109 had its landing gear legs attached directly to the fuselage rather than to the wing, with the wheels splayed out markedly and a very narrow track. That is exactly the detail everyone recognizes, and in 1:32 scale absolutely everything shows: the shape of the fork, the sliding member of the oleo, the hydraulic lines and the mounting of the brake pipe. A plastic leg from a mold also has a parting line that has to be sanded away, and it carries the whole weight of a large model, so in time it can bend. Replacement legs are therefore a popular and sensible upgrade in this size: they give sharper detail and a clean shape with no flash.
For modelers who are building the Bf 109G in 1:32 from Revell and want the landing gear to match the detail of a large model, especially when it is displayed on a stand or in a diorama, where the landing gear is permanently in view. Experience with resin and printed parts, cyanoacrylate glue and sanding is assumed.
An accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and other equipment are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
